Week 1 - Baking Challenge (BC)


While I am a firm believer in the Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix (thank you, Costco!), I am thinking Andrew and I will try to make some from scratch. I have some bakers chocolate from my Xmas cookie making extravaganza so we are on the right track. I'll be searching through my new Baking Illustrated for a twist on the classic. Stay tuned!


  1. I'll enjoy following your cooking adventures. I've got homemade pasta sauce simmering on the stove as I write this! As for brownies, we've been crazy for a Cooks Illustrated recipe Jim printed out in 2004. It is a cream cheese brownie. It always turns out perfectly, if you follow the directions. It is pretty and impressively delicious. I wonder if your book has that one in it.

  3. I have a fabulous and easy brownie recipe. The kind that once you try it, you never want to try another brownie recipe again. Let me know if you want it. Though your cream cheese brownies look pretty damn tasty.
